ABOUT
Soke Michelle Maizis is a world-class martial artist with over 40 years of experience.
An eighth-degree black belt in Chinese Kempo, she has also studied various styles including Jiu Jitsu, Sankudo, Shotokan, Goju Ryu, Hapkido, Chito Ryu, and Tai Chi C'huan.
Soke Maizis is the head of the Genki-Do Kempo system. As a certified self-defence instructor, certified defensive tactics instructor, certified ASP expandable baton instructor, certified OC munitions instructor, and certified master instructor she is well qualified to teach the essence of martial arts, and also is able to effectively coach athletes for competition at a world level. She is a member in good standing with the Canadian Martial Arts Association and the Police Martial Arts Association.
Soke Maizis is a WMO World Karate Champion, WKA World Karate Champion, multiple time world Silver medalist, twelve-time Canadian Champion and has been rated number one in Canada in six national sport karate circuits as well as rated internationally in six.
Soke Maizis has been inducted into three World Hall of Fames and three local Hall of Fames for her achievements and has had acting roles such as stunt double for Priscilla Barnes in Talons Of The Eagles.
The instructors at Maizis Martial Arts Academy are well experienced and continue to train under the direction of Soke Maizis.
